My name is Ashunta (A-shawn-tee) Jolly. I know what you’re thinking. The pronunciation does not match the spelling. We can thank my beautiful grandmother for that blessing because she liked to live freely just like me!

I feel like this all started at age seven. I was in the kitchen learning how to cook an entire soul food meal from scratch. My stepfather and grandmother knew their way around the kitchen like nobody’s business! Naturally, I was like a moth to a flame when it came to the art of cooking.

After graduating High school, I enlisted in the United States Army. I was able to travel, pursue higher education, and protect & serve my country at the same time. While I was stationed in Hawaii I was in a vehicle that was involved in an explosion while on orders in Afghanistan and that moment changed it the rest of my life.
